The software app comes in two editions. One free, called Lite, and the other called Pro. The Pro Edition has all Lite features included.
With the Pro Edition you can print an unlimited amount of labels at the same time. You can have as many variable fields as you want. The same for QR, barcodes and graphics. Serialization (incremented numbers) works for all fields. Also QR and barcode fields. The reprint feature is also available.
Pro is mainly created for businesses where the need for numerous prints is necessary. For example labels with QR codes, barcodes and variable fields.
Pro gives you the ability to have serialization of numbers on your labels as well as variable fields with text. Examples of such fields can be date, serial number, address or customer name. You decide yourself whether variable fields should be present when you design your labels in your label layout software.
With Pro, your labels can contain unlimited amount of variable fields, QR, barcodes and graphics. The reprint feature is also available, for continued unlimited printing, which also has the ability to increment number fields (serialization) infinitely.
Tagpresto is a software app that runs directly on specific Honeywell label printers. Models must be Smart Printing compatible and have an LCD screen.
It means that you don’t have to use a computer to print labels. You can instead have your pre-designed labels on one or more USB devices and print them directly from the label printer itself.
Tagpresto can be summed up as a printing software that drastically simplifies that process. The labels can be pre-designed in a label program. Such software is often included with your label printer. The input of variable fields is done via a standard USB-compatible computer keyboard, connected to the printer.
With Tagpresto, you are able to print the next label with just a few keystrokes. A computer requires more steps to achieve the same result. Also, a computer requires maintenance, such as updates. If you do a lot of printing, you also need a computer dedicated solely to label printing. This means an additional cost.
A computer is also a security risk, as intrusion is possible. Operating systems and label software that are updated may suddenly stop working. Therefore, a computer as a printing assistant, is not recommended in parts of the business where label printing must work every day.
In addition, a computer takes up an unnecessary amount of space – regardless of whether it is a desktop or laptop. A label printer with the Tagpresto app lets you easily move around, as it can be powered by either a power outlet or a battery*. Simply plug it in or insert a battery, and you can start printing right away.
*The battery option is only available on some Honeywell printers.
