The software app comes in two editons. One free, called Lite, and the other called Pro.
With the Lite Edition you can print up to three labels of the same, at the same time. You can have a maximum of one variable field. This can be used for text or numbers. Numbers can be serialized (incremented numbers). QR, barcodes and graphics cannot be printed. These require a Pro license.
Lite is sufficient for some businesses and is advantageously also free. Please note that the Lite edition leaves a small watermark on each label, in the bottom right corner, with the text By Tagpresto.com.
Tagpresto is a software app that runs directly on specific Honeywell label printers. Models must be Smart Printing compatible and have an LCD screen.
It means that you don’t have to use a computer to print labels. You can instead have your pre-designed labels on one or more USB devices and print them directly from the label printer itself.
Tagpresto can be summed up as a printing software that drastically simplifies that process. The labels can be pre-designed in a label program. Such software is often included with your label printer. The input of variable fields is done via a standard USB-compatible computer keyboard, connected to the printer.
As a business or individual user, you may require a high volume of prints, such as labels with mostly text or numbers. The Lite edition is designed specifically to meet these needs, and it is available for free to both businesses and individuals.
Lite allows you to include serialization of numbers on your labels, as well as one variable field that can be used to display information such as the date, serial number, address, or customer name, for example.
You can choose whether to include variable fields when designing your labels using your own label layout software. Please note that the Lite edition places a small watermark on each of your labels, located in the bottom right corner – By Tagpresto.com.
With Tagpresto, you are able to print the next label with just a few keystrokes. A computer requires more steps to achieve the same result. Also, a computer requires maintenance, such as updates. If you do a lot of printing, you also need a computer dedicated solely to label printing. This means an additional cost.
A computer is also a security risk, as intrusion is possible. Operating systems and label software that are updated may suddenly stop working. Therefore, a computer as a printing assistant, is not recommended in parts of the business where label printing must work every day.
In addition, a computer takes up an unnecessary amount of space – regardless of whether it is a desktop or laptop. A label printer with the Tagpresto app lets you easily move around, as it can be powered by either a power outlet or a battery*. Simply plug it in or insert a battery, and you can start printing right away.
*The battery option is only available on some Honeywell printers.
